A Teen’s Guide to Understanding and Communicating with People with Autism

Alexandra Jackman, a student at Westfield High School in New Jersey created an award winning documentary that has been shown in many schools throughout the country to promote acceptance of those with special needs and as an anti-bullying tool for elementary, middle and high school students.

A Teen’s Guide to Understanding and Communicating with People with Autism has been recognized by the NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities with a Multi Media Award as well as a Youth In Action Award created especially for this project by the ARC of New Jersey. Earlier this year, the film won Best Documentary at the NJ Shore Short Film Festival and it has been an Official Selection at many others including the Palm Beach International Film Festival, The Global Peace Alliance Online Film Festival and the Harlem International Film Festival.
